I know it's a dead post, but since others may still want to know, I can say from the 255, you hold up, scroll to Sensors & Accessories, select HRM Pro+, then you can turn to Indoors or Always to track pace and distance only indoors or always. I have just received a HRM Pro plus as a gift to pair with FR255. on a run wearing my watch and with chest strap worn, cadence does not read and says cadence low - 0 steps . any info is helpful as Iām very new to the watch and chest strap. Thanks very much

So I bought my HRM Pro in January, have used it for about 1 month when I noticed it didn't connect to my devices on Thursday. Tried doing everything to connect it and in the end I tried to delete it from my devices and reconnect it again. Didn't work. Opened it up and changed the battery, and measured the old one which was drained.

I have been working out with the HRM pro (yellow) for a while now. Batteries are good and strap is still in really good shape, its only 5 months used. I've been using Garmin's HRM straps for many years now, from swim, tri, pro, and standard HRM units. I've never had an issue with cold weather operation until this latest HRM pro strap.
After that to ALL of mine straps owned, two Hrm Run and now a Hrm Pro, has happened the same thing, I'm sure of that: after changing factory battery the strap drains all brand new battery that you put in in a few hours or days or little more but there's nothing to do, it's like they were short circuited on the strap, when you wear the first time all seems working then the battery get discharged.
